Healy received her Masters degree in Music Performance in 2006 from the
University of Queensland School of Music where, supported by an
Australian Postgraduate Award, she studied flute and piccolo with
Jeanette Manricks. She was awarded her
Bachelor of Music with first class honours from UQ in 2003 and received
various prizes and scholarships as well as her Associate and Licentiate
A.M.E.B. diplomas during her time at the university. In 2005 Kristine
received a University of Queensland Graduate School Research Travel
Award that enabled her to accept an invitation to spend four weeks at
the Aria International Summer Academy held at Ball State University in
Muncie, Indiana. During the past few years Kristine has been performing in and around Brisbane in a freelance capacity and with various ensembles and organizations including The Queensland Orchestra, the Queensland Pops Orchestra, Queensland Theatre Company and St Andrew’s Sinfonia. In 2004 she toured overseas as Principal Piccolo with the Queensland Youth Symphony. She particularly enjoys pit orchestra work and has played in the Brisbane seasons of Venetian Twins, Fiddler on the Roof and most recently, Pirates of Penzance. Currently, Kristine also teaches flute at Somerville House, South Brisbane and Mt St Michael’s College, Ashgrove
