Tim
Franklin is a
recent graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium where he studied
classical
saxophone with Barry Bobart. He works in a variety of other genres and
has
performed with the Con Artists, Queensland Youth Orchestra, small
ensembles of
various types, and as featured soloist in Debussy’s Rhapsodie
for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra with the Conservatorium
Symphony. In addition to the saxophone, Tim plays and teaches the
clarinet and
piano. He also composes and arranges, and is interested in enlarging
the repertoire
through original music and transcriptions. This year he begins his
Masters at
the Conservatorium, majoring in jazz saxophone.
